March 1, 2024 — Chipotle has a long history of partnering with local family farms. As part of its ongoing efforts to Cultivate a Better World, Chipotle is teaming up with Local Line to introduce a new ‘Local Farmer Grant Program.’ For the Chipotle restaurants opening in 2024, the company will make donations to local farms in close proximity to the new locations. The grants will go toward supporting farms’ sustainability efforts.
Selected farms will be contacted by Local Line directly, eliminating the need for formal grant applications. The administration of grants and associated sustainability reporting will be led by Local Line.
“We continue to be very impressed with Chipotle’s commitment to sourcing the highest quality local ingredients and supporting local family farms. Local Line is uniquely positioned to support this program and we are excited that Chipotle’s grants will benefit farms on the Local Line platform. We’re looking forward to continuing to work hand-in-hand with Chipotle to continue developing our local food system”, says Cole Jones, CEO at Local Line.
“Our new ‘Local Farmer Grant Program’ extends the impact of our new restaurant openings to the greater farming community for the first time,” said Stephanie Perdue, Vice President of Brand Marketing. “Supporting local farms is essential to ensuring the future of real food.”
